Nashville 4-piece Colony House fire out their lead single "Cannonballers" from the band's upcoming 4th album, The Cannonballers, coming February 3rd.
Frontman Caleb Chapman said, "When I stumbled upon the guitar riff that drives the song it kinda felt like a rollercoaster ride, so I began to form the lyric around the first rollercoaster I remember riding as a kid, the Wabash Cannonball at Opryland USA Themepark. It was just a short ride with only a couple loops in it, nice and to the point. As the ride concluded I would already be thinking about getting back in line for another go,” he continues. “The song's meaning is multifaceted and alludes to the pace of life we all seem to be living at these days… fast. ‘Cannonballers’ is a short ride with a couple twists and turns, but hopefully by the time it ends, whoever is listening will want to hop back in line for another go."
Colony House is currently made up of brothers Caleb Chapman (vocals) and Will Chapman (drums), Scott Mills (guitarist), and Parke Cottrell (bassist). In 2014, Colony House released their debut full-length album, When I Was Younger, featuring their first breakout single "Silhouettes" on Descendant Records. They dropped their second album, Only The Loney, in 2017 on RCA. In 2018, they transitioned out of the major label system and went back to their independent roots. Colony House's last album, Leave What's Lost Behind, was released in 2020.
The band will be on tour February 11th through April 6th and playing at Bonnaroo this summer. Find the tour dates here.
