1. How in the world did you even get into radio?
I tell people I fell backwards into it. I applied to be an office assistant at Wayfm in Kalamazoo, and they trained me to be on the radio. Pretty wild.
2. What's one thing you wish you had known about radio when you first started?
It's not about me. I like to make it about me but the things that connect the most with listeners come from God and the things he is teaching me.
3. How has God pulled you out of your comfort zone?
In the last year I asked for a talent coach. I started working with Todd Stach and man change is hard. It's good and this is what I wanted but it's still out of my comfort zone.
4. Some great advice you recently received is…
Don't overthink it. This is like breathing to me, but I need to not spend so much time and energy overthinking things.
5. Tell us about someone who you really respect and why?
Jack Eason. Jack has been a mentor and encourager to me for years. He has seen something in me that others didn't. He also is doing a lot for people behind the scenes that not a lot of people see, and I love that. He doesn't take the credit for things.
6. What's one thing you try to do when life gets hard?
Quiet my mind and rest. I pray, sit quietly with God, worship. I can't control a lot, but I can trust and put more faith in the one who is in charge of everything.
7. What's something about you that would surprise most people?
I love watching sports. I especially love watching high school sports and NFL football.
8. What's your go to song when the windows are down and you're driving on the highway?
Hands up by George Moss
9. In three words describe your ideal vacation.
Rest, beach, warm.
10. Tell us one thing that you bought recently that WASN'T on your grocery list.
Ok well I am not a grocery list maker. I go in with a general plan but don't always get everything. So I recently bought a pretzel sampler with dips at Aldi. That wasn't part of the plan for that shopping trip.
