Dark Horse
Tanya Tucker made a memorable entrance on the Grand Ole Opry stage on Friday night (6/2), arriving on a horse. The 2023 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee made Opry history with the stunt, which Opry historians believe to have been the first time a horse has been ridden on stage during an Opry broadcast in the show’s 97-year history. Country duo BlackHawk and Southern Rockers The Outlaws joined forces to donate $75,000 to MusiCares and the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville. Henry Paul, a member of BlackHawk as well as the sole original member of The Outlaws, presented a $50,000 check on behalf of the Van Stephenson Memorial Cancer Research Fund. Stephenson, a founding member of BlackHawk, passed away from melanoma in 2001. The Outlaws donated an additional $25,000 to MusicCares.
