Is HD FM radio worth it?
How well is HD radio vs. regular analog? Thinking of getting an HD compatible HU soon. I don't listen to the radio unless there are talk shows. Wondering if it would justify an upgrade from my SR80BT.

Re: Is HD FM radio worth it?
I LOVE HD Radio. The clarity is outstanding, especially in areas where the signal is strong, but there can be occasional interference. For example, Seattle was a horrible reception radio market, but I drove from the North 'burbs all the way to Olympia (a good 80 miles) without a single flicker of static.....it's as if you're listening to a CD. And HD-2/3 sub-channels often carry the low power FM's that won't travel as far, but they will come in perfect as long as the signal is solid enough to keep the HD-1 channel locked in. 2020/Covid probably slowed the growth of broadcasters putting up the cash to convert to HD, but yeah, the sound is much better than analog and Sirius xm, at least in my car. I won't own another car radio without HD built in.
