Valora
Oct 3, 2011
Alternative Press named them one of the "100 Bands You Need to Know in 2011," while Revolver Magazine tapped Valora's Syd Duran as one of the "Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock." The LA-based rock band fronted by powerhouse singer Duran also caught the attention of Ahmet Zappa when his Monsterfoot Productions needed inspiration for a graphic novel. Valora is now poised to release their debut single, "I Waited For You," on iTunes October 24th while the video is set to premiere on VEVO on October 7th. The soaring rock anthem is already catching fire at rock radio and exciting fans online.
Getting the call for their first tour was a welcome shock for Duran, "I couldn't believe it when I got the call. I only had 3 days to pack but as a band we're ready to go!" Valora (featuring Ryan Villa, Jared Baez, Kenny Benson, Taelor Duran and Kasim Somers) will hit the road with 10 Years beginning in Spokane, WA and continue on to the 48 Hours Festival in Las Vegas where the band landed a coveted spot alongside such hard rock luminaries as Korn, Avenged Sevenfold and Godsmack.
Sharing the stage with multi-platinum acts may be a far cry from the band's humble beginnings back in Whittier, CA, where an early incarnation of Valora scraped up $400, hopped the fence at Whittier High and shot an early video for "I Waited For You." The video spawned interest online and caught the attention of Hollywood Records execs, who literally signed Duran on the spot.
On the road, Valora will be performing songs from their upcoming album I Waited For You which is set to be released early 2012.
