January Jane
Mar 17, 2021
The Alt-Pop band January Jane was initially formed as a duo after lead vocalist/lyricist Pat Via and guitarist Mitch C. Mitchell met by chance at an art gallery. The two hit it off so well that they decided to start writing music together. Their chemistry was instantly apparent as they had an outline for their first song sketched out in a mere ten minutes of their first session. The duo became a trio with the addition of keyboardist Peter Scialla, who they met at a private party in NYC's trendy Meatpacking District. Scialla was playing piano at the gathering and the two were immediately drawn in and decided to play with him on the spot. As Scialla explains, "We’ve put so much into this band. Now we absolutely want to get it out there in a very big way."
The band was signed to Whiskey Vinyl Records, run by influential L.A. DJ Matt Pinfield and distributed by BMG.
Their new release is a cover of "I Can't Go For That", a 1981 smash from the duo Hall & Oates.
