The Afro-Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz' will release their first U.S. album Black Star Elephant on September 16th on Warner Bros. Records. In addition to their song of the summer "Am I Wrong," their debut features 13 tracks and 7 interludes which pay homage to their parents' nationalities. Their multiplatinum, hit single "Am I Wrong" has reached over 1 billion in audience in total listenership after claiming the #1 spot at US radio in July following its debut as the #1 most added recorded at the format in April. The inspirational anthem continues its 8-week reign as the #1 most Shazam'd song in the world with over 130 million global streams on Spotify and currently remains in the Top 5 at on Billboard's Hot 100 and iTunes
Nico Sereba and Vincent "Vinz" Dery hail from Oslo, Norway where they have been shaking up the entertainment scene. The singing/songwriting duo have tapped into the heart of global culture by writing and performing eclectic songs influenced by pop, reggae, West African dance, hip hop, rock and soul stylings that joyfully speak of life, love and identity. They were known originally as Envy to their European fans when they debuted in 2010. The pair have topped various charts thanks to their extraordinary storytelling, electrifying performances and riveting videos.
The duo are set to perfom at the two-hour return of Fashion Rocks on September 9th. They will also be performing at the 20th anniversary party for Instyle Magazine, the official media partner of Fashion Rocks during New York Fashion Week. The following week finds the two kicking off the release of their album, Black Star Elephant with a performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. This latest performance will complete a U.S. campaign that kicked off on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and has captivated audiences on LIVE! with Kelly and Michael, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, Good Morning America and The View. Then on September 19th, Nico & Vinz will hold a free performance at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN as part of the Hard Rock Cafe Mall of America's grand opening kickoff event. Nico & Vinz' show in the Rotunda will mark the first live performance hosted by the new venue.
