J.S. Ondara
Apr 1, 2019
Nairobi, Kenya-born J.S Ondara moved to Minneapolis in 2013 with a huge cache of songs and a wide-eyed optimism that he could follow his musical dream in America. He began performing locally and then beyond, slowly built a national awareness that has led to release of his debut album, Tales of America.
Several tracks are Triple A ready on this David Bouchner-produced project including “Saying Goodbye,” “American Dream,” “Television Girl,” “Turkish Bandana” and “Give Me A Moment.”
Ondara said, “I knew I wanted a song called ‘American Dream’ on the record, but I didn’t have that song. I wrote like twenty songs called ‘American Dream’ before I found the one that ended up being the record.”
Ondara will be on tour throughout the spring and summer, including an appearance at the NONCOMMvention in May and the Newport Folk Festival in July.
