Why You Should Have A Buddy At A Cineplex
A station to remain-nameless has worked out a deal for scads(tm) or tickets to every Thursday night midnight premiere all Summer. For free.
You can never EVER overthink free movie tickets.
Auto Graph
One of the stations has some very cool celeb/artists coming in and will be loading up on signed stuff to giveaway. No one has ever done the bit where you write the calls in soap in your rear window and get spotted to win. We take autographs for granted. The listeners don't.
Or, as Justin Riley suggested, have a line of cars, an artist, and as people drive past, they sign the rear window in permanent marker.
You could ALSO have them lean in and sign the dashboard. 1000 years ago an intern borrowed my car to go to the Travelodge in Portland to pick up an artist I'd rather not mention. In addition to later having their way with Wendy, they wrote their names all over the backseat. The signatures were there until a semi destroyed that cool little Toyota on the way back from the Auto Show at the St. Paul Civic Center.
Dress The DJ
The great thing about working at home is the severely lax dress code. Air talent are held to only a slightly higher standard. I was at a station website where, clearly, the way one of the morning show guys dressed, had become an on-going bit. If this is, or could become a bit, then what if you basically took photos of everything in his closet (I'm assuming it's a guy) and in his drawers. Break them down into categories, and one listener a day gets to mix/match an outfit for him to wear the next day. Maybe there's a client incentive, like free clothes, for them to do it.
Stars Gas
We've been giving away artists cars for a long time. What if you, instead, gave away their gas? They rolled by the station and while they were visiting, miraculously, the tank on their bus went empty. You'd HAVE to get them to do the promo about how strange it was that it just went dry. Especially since they saw the promo staff with a rubber hose and red cans, lounging out back.
