Memorial Day

You have, well, until Friday to determine your summer umbrella. If you are in a cold weather market, make sure to thank everyone for sticking with you through the (Stations) 295 Days Of Winter.

Next weekend would be a great weekend to award a pair of tickets to every movie you have this summer. Or, at least qualify all the winners for a pair of tickets to every concert you do this summer.

Don't forget parades. Jillian at B-95 in Albany has their one vehicle in five over the weekend in 2009.

The TRUE meaning of Memorial Day? Before people like me bastardized it? Is to remember the people who serve our country.

A station to remain nameless is setting up a voicemail for people to leave messages and a few songs for a loved one that's serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. These will be edited into TOH intros and they'll work to make sure that it's in conjunction with an hour where some of his/her favorite songs will play. The hour will be recorded along with the dedication and mp3ed to them.

Hits Your Parents Hated

There are going to be about 8000 different music features happening on stations this weekend, most of which play off "The Top (Dial Position) Party Songs Of All Time".

It's Queen Victoria Day in Canada. Last year Hot in Ottawa did a music feature of requested songs that tick off parents. Here were a few of the requests. First heard this on Power in Miami as "Music That Mom Hates". Always is big and fun.
