Mapping Out Your Weekends
Weekend contests are "vibe" contests. Your opportunity to take a big big left turn and do something fun. You can do that and also make money. How? By...wait for it...planning them out. 95.7 Jamz in Birmingham has been either #1 or #2 for thrteen years. They are a juggernaut. And I've never gotten a call on a Thursday with "Hey, we're trying to think of a weekend contest..." Tamika in Promotions just sked'ed them out through Labor Day. Every weekend theme. Now, Sales can go and bring in appropriate clients. This keeps you from doing a weekend contest where caller ten gets a sub sandwich.
Semantics
I was listening to one of your competitor's talk on and on about their prize closet. Tomorrow the CPR client starts referencing their prize warehouse. Gee. That was easy.
Musical Johns
Magic in Colorado Springs was the first station to do Musical Cars to giveaway a car. If you think about it, 99% of our games are just variations of something that we did at a birthday party in 4th grade. For front row or backstage, what about getting nine porta-potties and ten listeners. Start a song by John (Mayer, Mellencamp, whatever) and stop it. People dive it and slam and lock the door. Eliminate listeners and johns until you have your winner. (I said "eliminate")
