A Couple Of TV Spots
From the archives of one Eddie Haskell, shortly before he was an adult film star and then fragged by his own troops in 'nam. These are brilliant. Why? Because they stand out. It's not the standard positioning statement and logo with three clips of hit songs.

Nabbed
After four and a half weeks on the run, the Z-94.7 $5000 Fugitive has been caught in Grand Forks. This was a genuine homerun because:
- The person they chose as their Fugitive was great. A doctor and he was smart, laid low and most importantly, he had GREAT stuff that clues could be written from.
- They have a good, solid competitor up there and the other station tried all the tricks to mess with it and Z just stayed on-message, shook them off and kept the audience focused on the chase.
- The time elapsed from "clue-to-capture"? Five minutes. That's large. The clue ran at 7 am and at 7:05 he was asked by two people.
- And finally, the winners: two guys who used Google to track and dissect each clue. This info was then put through some kind of matrix that prioritized and catalogued the info. Homeland Security should hire these guys; this wasn't some random right-place-at-the-right-time thing. They knew what they were doing.
Capture video is being edited but I love the FB commentary at http://www.z947.com/
Undorsements
We make fun of how stupid our listeners are. But they're savvy enough to know that when a DJ says, "My friends at Bob Carter Ford..." he/she is being paid to say that. And when Rihanna or Brad Paisley say, "K-Paige is the ONLY station I listen to when I'm in Scandia..." that it's meaningless.
There's truth to the Groucho line about not wanting to be a member of a club that would have him as a member. Me? If KDWB had a TV spot with some white supremacist ranting about the station and how it sucked and Dave Ryan was satanic, then, I would listen to it. Because if this guys hates them, then they must be doing something right.
Jo Jo Wright at KIIS created a fake "listener" who went on his Facebook page and stirred up all kinds of crap and basically ACTIVATED all off his "friends" to come to his defense. Genius.
Somewhere, a DJ has created an "anti-(him)" Facebook page populated by religious nutjobs. And...he activated his audience. Ask and I might share the link.
