Pizza Man Confessions
We were working on New Years Eve the other day in Moncton. The whole "pizza delivery" thing on the 31st is big. We were talking about ride-alongs. Someone threw out the name Pizza Man Confessions. Like "Taxi Cab Confessions".
No one would be in the back of the guys Gremlin, but, what if you helmet-cammed him and posted all the video of him walking into parties and stuff. Plus of course the places where it's just some sad lonely guy in a Dungeons and Dragons chatroom on New Years Eve.
Outstanding Christmas Present #1
A dial position number of hours of commercial free music leading up to Christmas Eve. Power 96 in Miami has done that. Cities 97 in Minneapolis has done it. But you need something a little more vibing than just "102 Hours Of Music".
Outstanding Christmas Present #2
Christmas trees. There are a million ways to do this, but to do a tree-an-hour or a tree-a-shift: that's big. These are terrific prizes. One of the Citadel stations is in a position where they're competing head-to-head against another station with the all Christmas Music format. And are doing this. Great hook. "Wii's & Trees"?
Outstanding Christmas Present #3
Reuniting families. "Home For The Holidays". "I'll Be Home For Christmas". There are, again, a million ways to do it. The non-hypey way to do it is semi sorta what 97 Rock did in Buffalo when they surprised a woman by flying her boyfriend back from Afghanistan for Valentines Day.
I'd:
- Do a topic about friends/family who are separated this December.
- Off-air get details and find a situation that lends itself to doing importing someone.
- Do an Oprah-type ambush of bringing a long-lost or distance-separated friend/ relative in.
- The payoff is in the video/audio and post-promotion.
