And Further Evidence To Support My Supposition, re: Hiney
Cox in Birmingham is a pretty freaking amazing cluster. Seriously. They do great non-traditional contesting like Bug'ed and Fuge and all of the non-Birthday Game stuff. But...they balance it out with being so ridiculously woven into the fiber of the community that it would blow your mind. They. Miss. Nothing.
So, a few weeks ago, a tornado hit an elementary school in the pre-dawn hours and wrecked it to the point that it's being torn down and rebuilt. What did 95.7 Jamz do? They collected enough toys and stuff to rebuild the playground. http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2012/02/957_jamz_donates_three_trucklo.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
You can't beat stations that do this stuff.
Uncaged Heat: The Beauty Pageant With A Record
There was a news story about a prison in Brazil where the women convicts did a beauty pageant. It was kind of cool. (I'm into that stuff) Dave Ryan at KDWB once had five female listeners who had done at least one night in jail, posted on the website. Match the girl to the crime, ie: Cindy forgery uttered.
Somewhere....a station is going to do a version on Baby Idol. Like Office Hottie but women from the audience who had done time. The most beautiful (based on listener voting) wins.
So You Think You Can Dance(line)
I lobbed this at three of the stations. Sometimes, in life, you just need a good name. Everything else will fall into place. Basically this would be one of the jocks (could be a guy)(actually would be BETTER if it was a guy) living out their dream of being on a highschool danceline for one performance.
We did something similar with Jo Jo Wright in Charlotte and I think we had 20 or 30 highschools begging, PLEADING to let him be a cheerleader for a night.
This is just an excuse to:
- Create video content
- Market in the schools
