Trip Contesting
As great as "click and register" on the website can be, sometimes there are fun alternatives. Like when Q-104 in Halifax had a trip to the Playboy Mansion in LA for giveaway. This epitomizes a "money can't buy prize". So they filled a 500 pound pumpkin with numbered balls that represented qualifiers...I'll let the video speak for itself.
This is top-of-mind because this and Hot 89.9's "Win A Baby" were nominated for Promotion Of The Year at CMW in Toronto last week. (Hot won BTW)
Big Time Phones
Kudos to Fly 92 in Albany where they took some Big Time Rush tickets and soaked them for most of a day. It was very simple; caller 9230 won. From Ally Reid:
I gotta tell you this caller 9230 thing has been INSANE today, we're about 400 callers away from the winner it's craziness. Simple awesomeness and as soon as the winner is rolled out we'll have our next Big Time Rush contest with the night guy ready to go. Sometimes the answer is in the phones.
1000 Words
One of the stations had the screening for the new Eddie Murphy film and somehow got $1000 to give away in conjunction with it. So, what's better then one appt. time in PPM? How about two? Which is why Ticket Tag kills. Or, how about 102 (or whatever your dial position is) appt. times?
It's kind of like Counting Cards To Vegas which several of you have done. At maybe 20 appt. times a day, give out a word. On Friday afternoon, having tracked all the words, be the first to call in with the entire 102 word phrase to win.
Hard? Sure. Which is why this would be perfect for at-work contesting. Kind of like Fugitive where workplaces teamed up to follow clues and split the prize.
