When God Gives You Pig, You Make Ham 'N Aid
The focal point of all news in the bustling metropolis of Albany was that a 600 pound pig somehow broke free and escaped on the highway. He was swiftly recaptured but the minds at Fly 92 felt that his/her zest for life and Spirit warranted that he/she get gets reprieved. Tips For Ta Ta's
Also at Albany Broadcasting and with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in our midst, Charlie who haveth said ta ta's, has put together a sales promotion for a local bar or restaurant. Kind of like the KSFM bit where the morning show took PT gigs in December and donated their wages to Christmas charities, this would be a celebrity bartender night with tips going to Komen.
The Humiliation Station
The Warrior or "Hero Dash" was hosted in many markets last month. At Jamz 96.3 in Albany, Penk the midday guy challenged J Will, morning dude, to the local 5K event...and lost. Which required him to walk 6 miles in a dress holding a sign with J Will's photo and how J had essentially schooled him. Charlie said that people took off from work to go and watch the March Of Shame.
And Some More Listener 9/11 Feedback
From the Karson & Kennedy at Mix in Boston.
Subject: Fontbonne students treat police and firefighters to lunch on 9/11 - Quincy, MA - The Patriot Ledger
Dear Mr. Morgan,
My name is Sheila Kukstis and I am an assistant superintendent in the Catholic Schools Office for the Archdiocese of Boston. I am writing to you today in response to a story reported in yesterday's Patriot Ledger newspaper. The story told the story of a student at Fontbonne Academy in Milton who was listening to the morning Karson and Kennedy show on September 11th on her commute into school. The morning hosts challenged listeners to do something nice for first responders in honor of the September 11th anniversary. In response to this challenge, one young woman, senior Maretta Morovitz with four of her friends made an appeal on the school's morning announcement for donations to raise money to send pizza to the Milton fire and police stations in thanks for their service. They raised enough money to send pizza to all fire and police stations in Milton. Their actions so moved the pizza shop owner, Pat's Pizza in Dorchester, he was prompted to then send pizza to the local police and fire stations near his pizza shop.
Please let the morning hosts know how their thoughtful challenge manifested itself in the actions of others. The actions of these students were motivated out of a sincere and pure desire to honor others and were a direct result of Mr. Karson and Mr. Kennedy's challenge to think of others. Please thank the morning hosts for their part in this story. I have included the link to the story below.
Kind regards,
Sheila Kukstis
