Sleighing Songs? Good. Slaying Songs? Bad.
One of the stations has a car dealer with a BIG budget for November/December. Normally the station does Stuff The Bus there but for various reasons, THAT will be elsewhere. But dude has money. Dude wants a promotion. Dude will allow the station to back-end some big prizes out of the budget.
The Secret Sound has been around since the Dawn of Man. The Black Box about half of that time. What if you hung a sleigh from a crane? A Santa-quin in the drivers seat. A stack of wrapped presents in the back. The Secret Sleigh. SFX of the presents on-line, additional clues posted at the dealership. Guess all 8 or 9 items and win it all.
My Country 'Tis Of Wii
One of the PD's has racked up an astounding seventeen Wii's for December contesting. The smartest suggestion I've heard so far comes from someone who is actually a total dumbass. But he had his "moment". Another PD memo'ed the entire cluster and asked them to keep their eyes open for the things because honestly? It's hit-and-miss. If you're out and see one or two or ten, buy them and he'll reimburse you the next day. Smart. Very.
Turkey Bingo
Two stations that remain nameless have stumbled upon turkeys, lots of turkeys, for giveaway. If it's too windy to fly them with helium balloons, or your company won't allow you to drop things from helicopters, then how about doing a version of the Bovine Bingo thing. Get a parking lot. Fence a space, grid it, have people bet on what space the turkey will crap in and let him/her/it loose to defecate. They splatter BTW (the knowledge one picks up in Radio) so maybe everyone's square that gets the dookie in it get a free turkey.
