Things You Don't Get With The VIP Club
The true payoff from contests? The winners. The winner promos. The excitement you get from THEIR winning. So, WIXX in Green Bay did a Billboards For Bieber contest that incentivized the audience to market the radio station with a pair of meet and greets to meet Justin Bieber.
This is a 100 million dollar prize that a lot of stations have dumbed down to click-and-register.
And the payoff was Otis going with the parents and having them announce it over the intercom at their daughter's school....and get her reaction on video.
Billboards For Bieber
Oasis Radio Group in Ft. Wayne should be on everyone's list of places they would die to work at. Why? They do cool and amazing things. Seriously. Following a contest to send one winner out for five nights in a row with 1D, they followed with this. This is from Phil Becker, the GM:
When I say that HOT 1079 has some of the most passionate listeners ever, I mean it. On a Friday at 6 P.M. we asked our "hotties" to make a Bieber Billboard that promotes HOT 1079. Then video tape themselves in a public place with that billboard. We will pick our favorite and send them to see Justin Bieber tomorrow night.
Below you will find some very passionate HOT 1079 fans. Keep in mind they did all of this in less than 48 hours. Why? Because we have touched their hearts and minds and they are a part of our "tribe". (Seth Godin reference)
