Why I Love Canadian Radio
So Pink had a concert scheduled for Saskatoon a few weeks ago that was cancelled for laryngitis and rescheduled for next year. Pink, in any market is a big deal and the Saskatoonianites were very disappointed, so C-95 put together in about 30 minutes, a flyaway to her next un-cancelled show...in Lincoln, NE.
The imaging was done by Debbie, the Director of the Lincoln Convention & Visitors Bureau talking about how thrilled they are to open up their very exciting city to guests from Canada.
And then the Mayor of Toronto got busted. A moderately large news story in the US. Up there? Huge. So the next day was Free Crack Friday. Call and win new auto glass for your chipped and cracked windshield.
Balls
96.1 in Poughkeepsie is part of the CC tour of all the big Jingle Balls. The imaging is all about how some people are happy with two balls. We have 7! God bless the stupid people.
And you must must get one of these for 2014. http://petapixel.com/2013/07/09/squito-a-throwable-panoramic-camera-ball-that-captures-360-degree-shots/
Blizzards
It's inevitable that some/many of you will experience winter storms. These are like the Super Bowl, the Grammys, the Golden Globes, the Oscars and the VMA's: they are social media "events". If your market is paralyzed and some idiot posts "Austin Mahone has a new single with Arianna Grande dropping on March 8th!", please fire them.
Have a plan. Make sure that everyone knows what to do. LIVE on social media and use it to connect with the audience.
With that said, what do people do during snow storms? They take shots and post them of their yard or drive way or balcony or deck and post the accruing white stuff.
Having a yard stick is boring. Which is why Kennedy from Mix in Boston is so cool. She got a tiny chiropractor's skeleton, named it "Calista" and used it as her gauge for posting on Facebook during a blizzard last winter.
