I've never been at a station with an autograph wall, where I didn't see listeners coming in to pick up prizes, completely sidetracked and entranced with the signatures. The best ever was done by a station in the UK where they had a couch in the studio and guests signed it until it was covered....and then they gave it away.
The White Trash Bachelor
Mancow was pretty amazing to work with. In his first week he learned the culture of the Bay Area. Things he could reference or hot buttons he could push that would create buzz and thus, bring ears to the table. Like that Herb Caen was an Icon and off limits (so he did the "Thoughts and prayers" bit and got TV and print out of it) and that the seals were off limits. He also identified Concord as "that" community that you can mess with without being racist or mean-spirited. Most markets have a 'burb like that that even the people who live there have a modicum of a sense of humor about it. Minny? Anoka. So Dave Ryan has many times parodied them. Charlotte? Gastonia. Tampa? Plant City.

This season of "The Bachelor" is pulling some freakish numbers.
You could:
- Devote time to talking about it on the morning show. (zzzzzzzzzzz)
- Create a Bachelorette group of women who chat on Facebook every Tuesday about it.
- When "Sex And The City" was at its peak, Meredith at The Beat in Austin would have an invite only viewing party in a suite at the Sheraton. Watch the show. Drink Cosmos. And it wrapped up with male strippers. It was hottest ticket on the station.
- Or parody it.
Somewhere, a station is putting together a version that would find some dude from their version of Concord, clean him up just a little, create a video series of him getting lessons in social skills from one of the air talent, and then do a version of the show with five women.
Topical. You could sell it. You could create web content.
