Interviewing For A Promotion Director
One of the stations is going through that process right now. Here are four questions to file away for that possibility.
- What is the biggest promotional disaster you've ever had? If they say they've never had one, they're either lying or not trying hard enough.
- What is the best promotion you ever did? How they answer shows whether they're what you need. If they answer "A tri-partnered co-op vendor program that tied the stations digital platforms and Target into..." then that's great. If you need a Marketing Director. If they describe a summer campaign that threw backyard parties and crashed beaches, that's great...if you need a street animal.
- What promotion have you always wanted to do but haven't? Great Promotion Directors always have goals, things they want to do that no one else has ever done.
- Kit Kat wants that station to do a four week promotion where people submit 30 second home-recorded jingles for the client to win an iPod. Would you do this or would you rewrite it and how?
An Easy Formula For Juicing The Phones In The Morning.
Adultery. Wow, that was simple. Any time you get a woman on the air who is unabashed and without guile in terms of her pride about sleeping with a married man, the phones explode. The other women in the audience want to KILL her. I heard it on Magic in Colorado Springs. The caller put all the blame on the wife. Totally without any guilt. And the listeners wanted to track her down and hurt her badly. The morning show at Y in Fargo stumbled on this Phonal Viagra when a college student who is doinking her married prof, called in.
Podcasts That Parents Love
My daughters loved audio books for when we were in the car. "Cam Jansen." "Mrs. Pigglewiggle". They can't get enough of them. We go through a few week. Have pretty much cleaned out the library. What if you had the morning show read kids books and have them downloadable on the website?
