Things Pandora Can't Do, # 11,628
I've always been very impressed by what stations in Norfolk, Jacksonville, Fayetteville and San Diego have done to work with and acknowledge the significant military community and their families in their markets.
Like last month with KSON:
John and Tammy did their show live from pier 5 at the 32nd Street Naval Station~~all to welcome home the soldiers and sailors aboard the USS Coronado. This is a BRAND NEW ship and this was their first 'Homecoming' to San Diego. And KSON was right their with the ambulance and our killer morning show~~to give these soldiers a big ol' KSON/San Diego welcome home!!

They Trained 'Em Well
KDWB in Minneapolis is one of those stations that has taught their audience that the station website is a great place to post stupid pics and perhaps win big.
The quality of entries for their most recent contest, "Frozen Fiancees" is ridiculous. http://www.kdwb.com/photos/main/frozen-fiance-entries-383340/#/0/22269719
Blast Off To Bruno & Justin Time
Quite a few of your have done the appt. time open-the-phones-and-everyone-wins contest.
One of the CBS Top 40's had 5 trips to a Robin Thicke pool party in Vegas, so they did the same thing but instead of giving out prizes, they took as many names as they could over 20 minutes, five times a day, and during the 5 pm hour they picked a winner.
And it killed.
Fly 92.3 in Albany has done it twice, with Bruno and Justin and the phones were JUST as hot as they would be if they were giving away tickets to every caller. Phones melted when they opened the line.
Qualifying generally sucks but with this methodology, gimme a "huh", it works big time.
