Live I
This was the first time that anyone has worked a live iphone stream into a contest. Joe Mack from Q-107.5 in Memphis went live from the streets where he was holding an iPhone that went to youstream that fed straight to the site. People tracked the live shot and unprompted, people descended on the park where he was. First person to run up and say the right phrase, won. Basically "Cash Money" or "Ticket Bandit" with a visual.
Match The Deed-Doer To The Deed-Done Location
One of the stations has a '74 Chevy Nova to give away. (Long story) What if you posted the photos of the airstaff and photos of cars, drive-ins, dugouts, and campgrounds. Match the DJ to the venue where they lost their virginity and win. (Ford Matador: the ugliest car ever made) Basically "Do You Know The Show?" but with a visual element.
2014 Remotes/Appearances/Events
As you start to put together your wish list for next year, don't miss the chance to update what happens at your remotes and other street appearances. (This might be a good time for the prize wheel to suffer some sort of catastrophic injury) With that said, here are some cool things to peruse.
- I've been at a couple of events in the last year where one of the vendors or booths or a charity had set up a bubble machine. These draw kids. Kids draw parents. There ya go. http://www.ssww.com/store/product/sku=SL1195/?cm_mmc=Paid+Search-_-Google-_-bubble-_-party_bubble_machine&aid=GOG&rkgid=10
- Again, you want people to stop and to interact. Ever see "candy art"? Kids can make their own candy straws that they take with them. http://www.myrainbowdust.com/
- From a Promotion Assistant or tech standpoint, this is a little more burdensome, but would also be huge. Literally. Inflatable Twister. http://www.partyoutfitters.com/inflatable_twister.htm
- This would draw CROWDS. Human Bowling. http://www.partyoutfitters.com/human_bowling.htm
- V-103 in Atlanta used to have a spin art machine for events. Once you own the thing, your cost is paper and paint. You don't need to send the kids home with keychains or shirts or CD's. You send them home with a thing they made that has a logo ink-stamped in the corner. http://www.spinartusa.com/machines.htm
- I can't find where to buy one, but the engineer at V in Baltimore built one for about $50; a Name That Tune game for events. Basically three pressure-pads that hooked to lights that hung over the front of the table and a CD filled with hooks. Hit the button and the music stopped. If they were right with their guess, an intern clicked forward to the next hook. These things build crowds.
- AS important as having an activity is getting people to see you and stop. Lining the street with these for a block in each direction will get their attention. And it's way way way easier then handing a roll of banners to an intern with some scissors and ducttape. http://signspin.com/
- An inflatable dart board? http://www.tottevents.com/product_detailed.php?p_id=2611 Plug it in, it inflates and you're ready to go.
- Once you own this, your hard cost will be balloons and prizes. http://www.tottevents.com/product_detailed.php?p_id=2669
