Take With
Several of you have done "Live With", which is a Canuckian contest that is fun and provides you massive exposure in the market and also a good use of digital and social networking.
This is the Summer. People go on vacation. You should do "Take With" and have people post photos of your logo that they've taken with them all over the world. Much like the KDWB sticker I stuck on the Great Wall Of China. If you don't have stickers, then just have something people can print off your website.
Like any contest such as "Show Us", I'd spike in some photoshopped examples from "listeners" to get it going.
Half-Off Back To School
I doubt there's a station in the US that doesn't have some version or variation of "Steals & Deals". Most, BTW, are boring as Hell. If you really want to embrace this and make it more than some lame Sales obligation you have to run inventory for, then get creative with the promos. Me? I'd do it as a meeting of Cheapskates Anonymous. Sample for a different promotion, attached.
A CHR that must remain nameless has already got seven clients on-board a Back To School variation of this. Shoes. Haircuts. Lunchbox stuffers from a grocery client. All in a logoed backpack. Money from each sold will go to a school lunch program charity.
The Freezer Of Mystery
One of the stations is doing a promotion with Pepsi that will award a winner a refrigerator filled with the product and food. The frig will be on display at clients' locations and they were looking for something a little more exciting than just register to win.
You know what EVERY fridge has? Something long forgotten that is encased in ice at the back of the freezer. What if you took something, like a box of Van Camps fishsticks, remove the product, and using rubber cement put it in the back of the freezer and create the impression that it's iced in. Cover it in the glue. All you can really see is a vague shape. You put it on display at stores and people have to guess on their entry forms, what it is. Could also be done with a beer client for NFL season.
