Swag With Some Longevity
Any time your AE can give something to a client that thirty years later they still have, that's a homerun. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10202423362653993
Your Next At-Work, Seafood Client Promotion
From the marginally insane people at 94.9 in Cincinnati where they did a Fish Toss event last year. Now, imagine, Red Lobster, Long John Silvers, Captain D's or any other client that serves fish and wants to market to the lunch crowd. Have offices compete to win lunch every week for a year. Charitable tie-ins are always nice.
Sell. These.
- In a lot of markets, hitting highschool football is an all formats thing and it SHOULD be sponsored. In Minny and Fargo, banks are the clients. In fact, at Y-94, the swag pom poms are sold. In Mankato "Football Friday" is sold to Buffalo Wild Wings. Pepsi does it in a few markets. Several Taco Bells also.
- Cheerleaders in the studio on Thursday night? You can't let them starve. I've seen Jimmy Johns, Subway and Dominos sponsor it.
- When Rick Gillette was in Detroit, they did Team Of The Week and every Thursday night all through the school year they had a different prep team in, with the strategy to hit every key school over the course of the year. Girls Swimming. Baseball. Hockey. Gymnastics. It was sponsored by a sub chain and was a VERY effective way to get a lot of ears listening to the station for an hour.
Wacky Wet Weddings
Also from a recent eblast I referred to "out of the box" weddings and their ability to get press, and also mentioned that on my bucket list was an underwater wedding. Someone done done it. http://blogs.citypages.com/dressingroom/2014/08/couple_celebrates_underwater_wedding_at_mall_of_america.php
