A few of the stations in cold weather markets have sold sponsors to Snow Squad, which is a street team devoted to hitting ski areas, ice rinks and other frozen locations where people go to recreate. It could be a liquor associated with Winter sports. Campbells Soup has snow schedules that go on when there are blizzards. Maybe this is something for them. One of the stations did snack cakes and sampled those at the slopes.

A couple of years ago Steve-O at KDWB was texting a photo of his junk and somehow it went to Dave who promised to post the photo on Facebook at the end of the shift. No amount of begging and pleading from Steve could dissuade him and at 10 am up went a photo of the garbage in his office.

Thaw Out Thursdays
One of the strongest ratings periods that Jamz in Albany has had was when they focused all their contesting on Thursdays in January and February and did a different artists flyaway every Thursday to some place warm. In Albany, DC would qualify.
A PD is on a quest for massive cume on Friday mornings and has come up with seven pretty cool artist trips to give away, one per Friday. I believe we're going to do The Phrase That Flies. Every 15 minutes starting at 6 am they will give out a word and at 9:55 the first person who can recite back the 16 word phrase will win that week's trip.
A version of this was done over the course of a week at KOB-FM in Albuquerque with cards being dealt at appt. times. On Friday call in, count all the cards, know the total of the hand and win a trip to Vegas.
