Hooray For Free Radio
Last December, Fisch at Radio 104 in Hartford got a special request from the family of a young man who was very ill with leukemia: he wanted to be a DJ for one day. So he came in, talked about his favorite band Alice In Chains, played songs and lived his dream.
It. Was. Huge.
He passed away several weeks ago and he was remembered on the air and his story was covered in the paper http://www.myrecordjournal.com/meriden/meridennews/6978540-129/meriden-19-year-old-former-wilcox-valedictorian-who-co-hosted-radio-show-dies.html and on TV http://foxct.com/2015/03/02/meriden-teen-remembered-after-losing-battle-with-leukemia/
Kane at Hot in DC was asked by a teacher to introduce one of his favorite and most special students to Maroon 5, so, being the guy he is, he did. The kid was so overcome that he had a little bit of a panic attack and had to lay on the ground...and so did the band. http://www.hot995.com/onair/the-kane-show-47672/chris-meets-maroon-5-photos-13365486/
Social Media Juice
I saw "Something you wouldn't want to do naked" done yesterday and it went kablooey. I believe that Sunny and Rowdy at KVOO in Tulsa were testing it today.
Actual Dang Accolades
Hot 104.5 in Knoxville did a pretty jimazing contest with Sarah Maclachlan-ish SPCA imaging last December called "No Prize Left Behind". It just won an Addy.
