Military Mommies

One of the Country stations was looking for 'something' and I think we may have settled on a military version of the single mothers promotion that several stations have done. KDWB did it as Minnesota Mommies. Basically if you're a listener and you know of a mom holding down the homefront during a deployment, you submit her name and her story. Every Friday one woman is selected, you read her story, you talk to the person who sent it in and then you call her up. Tears ensue and she gets a bevy(tm) of prizes from clients.

Proof That Appointment Times Work

"My 6 year old daughter Leia heard your radio commercial last night reminding people to call in at 8am for their chance to qualify for the beach house. She was absolutely certain that I would forget to try and call, so she left me the attached reminder note. "Tomorrow morning at eight you get a chance to borrow a beach house. Can't wait!" I just thought this was very cute and wanted to share!

Almost As Good As A Prize Wheel

When we started Wild in Tampa, we wanted it to be the anti-station. We didn't want to have anything or do anything that any other station in town would be doing. That included what Wild would do at remotes and appearances since it appeared that every other signal in the market had prize wheels.

So we went to Toys R Us and bought up anything that was Nerfable and remote controllable. These games were mixed in with stuff like Bobbing For Cod and a game where you had to suck a ball through a garden hose.
