(Markets) Cheapest Morning Show
Kristy & El Gato did this at Z-90 in San Diego after Jeff 'N Jer signed a contract for bazillions. The Z show got on the air and plead poverty and for a couple of weeks, every morning they'd lob out a product or service, like "Cheapest Breakfast".
At the end of the show they bought said-product/service for the listener who phoned it I, ie: The cheapest breakfast in San Diego is a small coffee and breakfast burrito at the Chevron off I-5 in National City. 89 cents. They were spending up to $20 a week for buying this stuff.
John & Tammy at KSON hit Gold with "Slowest Stop Light" in San Diego. Melissa at Mix in Buffalo may have stumbled on something with "cheapest house in Buffalo".

Summer Reading
I'm taking something with me on this break that I've been holding on to for a great summer read.
There are a couple of things that should be on your radar this Summer.
Steve Jones with Newcap has written two books on branding that are absolutely outstanding.
http://brandlikearockstar.com/
and
Dave Ryan from KDWB in Minneapolis has done a book on morning shows.
Isabel Boschi is a HUGE fan of this site and daily email about social media http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/
And because she's got a few great ideas of her own regarding graphic design, social media marketing and digital market, you can follow her on Twitter at https://twitter.com/nookstudio
I just finished "VJ: The Unplugged Adventures Of MTV's First Wave" and highly recommend it because
- There's a generation of people in Radio who probably don't get the cultural significance and lessons from MTV. It would be like explaining the British Invasion to me; my brothers got it, I was not around for it.
- And since MTV was started by Radio People and applied Radio Lessons to it, there's some really relevant stuff that will get you thinking about Radio in 2015. Four of the five VJ's had Radio experience and two of them had serious Radio experience: JJ Jackson broke Led Zeppelin in the US and Mark Goodman had been at both WMMR in Philly and PLJ in New York.
The latter sent this list of suggestions which, again, I think is pretty insightful and thought-generating at least as we continue to evolve.
