Star Wars Episode VII
Thank you to Darla Thomas at Greater Media/Charlotte for activating our fazers and putting this on our radar. It's being released December 18th so you have time to lock down tickets, funds for tickets and sell the crap out of what SHOULD be the Christmas blockbuster.
Darla Thomas, 1980 And she thought this would remain hidden for all these years.
Geek Off Have the two biggest Wars and Trek fans in your audience on the air to out trivia each other . The winner gets tickets and the loser has all of his (dude is assumed) swag and memorabilia put through a chipper.
Premiere Night Make sure the street team knows now that they'll be working and that all of the vehicles are x'ed out to be on-site. You will want to play to the cameras, so anything that encourages people to dress up WITH the inclusion of your logo will be good. There are such things are remote control R2D2's, so one of those would be great. And steal a page from Hot 99.5 in DC from the 4th and hold people's spots in line.
Laser Tag Tie them in, do an at-work competition between workplaces and the winning group of employees get tickets.
Weddings Nothing will get you on CNN faster than marrying two people before your screening in front of a packed theater, in costumes of course.
"They're Not Doing A Screening" Give away tickets anyway and when people come to pick them up, give them $15. It's all semantics and the competition's heads will explode like the Death Star.
"Luke, I'm Your Father" Do DNA tests on the air to determine parentage the week of the screening.
Scar Wars An oldie but goodie. Have listeners submit pics of their scars, post and vote.
Live As (Character) Just like AMP in Calgary had listeners living in pink body suits for 30 days to win $5000 and a trip to see Pink in Australia, if you found some diehard fans and dressed them up for the week, it would be good. Work, church, court, whatever….they need to stay in makeup and costume to win.
After Party If there was ever a movie to sell a themed after party at a bar, this would be it.
