McDonalds
One of the stations is formulating a game plan for Move-In Week at the local university. As should you. "But kids on campus don't get surveyed." No, but they're sure going to spend a lot of money in the community and you can get your clients in their faces on Day One. Plus, let's look at the University of Minnesota. 60,000 students of whom only 5000 are in dorms or campus housing and unsurveyable, ie: a lot live at home and commute. 55,000 people. Why would you want to ignore 55,000 18-34 year-olds?
So, McD's wants to be a part of the campus invasion. As someone who seems to find himself in a hotel restaurant having breakfast on move-in day, I have some perspective. Packed with parents and kids, and the tension is so bad, I usually get room service on those mornings. Seriously.
McDonalds has great family memories. Your parents took you there as a kid, so why not, on Move-In Day, host The Last Breakfast and give kids and parents a great, free, send-off meal if they can show some kind of dorm credential or move-in parking pass. Sell in Xanax as a secondary sponor.

Teacher/Teacher Conference A very large, very #1 station somewhere is going to put together a happy hour the Thursday before school starts, for local teachers. What a cool idea. They're going to have lots of activities and since these hard-working members of society get paid squat, lots of free food and cheap drinks. One game could be Show 'N Tell. Have a box with lots of random objects in it. The contestant pulls one out and for 30 seconds must talk about it without using the word "Uh" or repeating themselves. Basically a live version of the morning show "Uh Game".
Comic Con: The Hudson Valley Edition Kudos and even an accolade to Chuck, Chris, J and everyone at iHeart in the HV for pulling off their first comic expo last weekend. http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/picture-gallery/news/local/2015/07/25/the-2015-ultimate-comic-book-trade-show--expo/30676833/
From J Will:
iHeartMedia of the Hudson Valley held our first annual Ultimate Comic Book Trade Show and Expo this weekend. For two days , 25 vendors and just shy of 2,000 people joined us at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. We held cosplay contests awarding cash and vendor sponsored prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. We also had a gaming area, the Bat mobile (Adam West TV version), the Back to the Future DeLorean, Flash Gordon on hand signing autographs and taking pics, and comic book artist Joe Sinott (everyone knows him), Scott Lobdell and more artist! We quickly turned this event around and are looking forward to planning the 2016 expo.
2nd Crack At Halloween
Since every bar or establishment on the planet will have a Halloween night, if you actually want to cut through all the other messages, you need something better than a club gig with a $106 costume contest.
That's why Exotic Erotic Ball works. It's more than just contests, its activities and games that fit the theme.
KDWB switched up EEB last year and was the first US station to do The Saints And Sinners Ball, and another great name, from Leighton/Grand Forks: The Zombie Prom.
