Dave Ryan at KDWB did a contest where you had to match photos of his listeners to crimes that they'd been locked up for. I think the threshold was that you needed to spend at least one night in the joint. It was actually pretty funny. I failed miserably.

A friend/coworker regularly goes through the overnight booking photos on the local paper's website, picks out hot women and then sends them out to his database to pick the hottest felon of the previous 24 hours. They're in the public domain so it passed his Legal Dept. litmus test.

There's a weekly feature potential here.

Now, if you're any of the Florida stations or AMP in LA, you have monstrous theme park events happening in October. For the rest of us, we have a dizzying array of local attractions and annual events like haunted houses, corn mazes and similar venues to choose from. (Sorry about the "dizzying array" comment. That was pretty lame)

Go to http://www.hauntworld.com/haunted_houses.cfm and http://www.horrorfind.com/Haunted_Houses/ , search, print and give to the nearest AE or well-dressed person.

There's NO reason you can't be at one of these every weekend next month.

Then, we just need to decide what you want to do when you're there.

Me? I'd get a canopy and a prize wheel and some free pizza!!! But that's just me. What else could you have at a three hour appearance at one of these places?

Fortune Teller There are probably a thousand in your market who would love to come out and read cards for mentions.

Love At First Fright Could be as high maintenance as a wedding, or as simple as a singles night.

POV Cam people as they go through and post their reaction vid on your website.

The Scream Team Have the airstaff go through, one at a time, miked. Post the audio on the website. Match the scream to the DJ to win passes to the client.

Pig Races As done at 98PXY, they got a pig and a blind folded DJ and stuck them in the middle of a corn maze to see who could find their way out, first.

Costume Contest Duh. It's a given. But you need a hook. Parent/Kid pairings always seems to spark some listener creativity.

Cornoplex Set up a rear projection screen in the corn maze and show a scary movie.

Pumpkin Carving Get a professional to do works of art to send people home with.

Pumpkin Drop David Letterman broke through by dropping stuff from heights. Best ever was at Hot in Milwaukee. 300 pounder from a crane in a mall parking lot. You had to guess how far the farthest chunk would fly on impact, to win $1000 in shopping at the client.

Youstar Bring one of those out and send listeners home with clips of them appearing in classic horror films.

Coffin Races Teams run an obstacle course carrying a wooden box with a DJ in it.

But I still fall back on the canopy, eight foot table, prize wheel and pizza.
