Teases
I don't think there's ever been a great promotion that didn't tease the audience a little bit, get them wondering, make them want the payoff. "Somewhere" a station has already gotten TV coverage for something that a radio station connection hasn't even been revealed yet.
And Z-FX is returning to Zed 95.3 in Vancouver where Cruise and Ruby take a break to cook up some meth.
Anthony 104.1
Congrats to Fisch and everyone at 'MRQ in Hartford where they rebranded as Anthony 104.1 in honor of a local kid with inoperable brain cancer yesterday, raised $10,000 to help with the gargantuan medical bills and scored a story on every TV station in the state. Ah...the stuff that Sirius can't do.
Bad Tats
Apparently there is a bit here. From 2-Day FM in Grand Prairie https://www.facebook.com/2daygp/photos/pb.657448371012936.-2207520000.1440622977./859180337506404/?type=3&theater
Before Hook Ups, There Are Meet Ups
Any time you get 2000 people to show up at the park behind your station, it's a homerun. From Rayne at 98.7 AMP-FM in Detroit ----------------
It's not very often we can brainstorm an idea and not just execute it, but blow it out of the water! Yesterday was no exception!
A "Meet Up" is where a group of loyal fans get together to celebrate their love for a band or artist. Arguably, the biggest band in the world right now is One Direction. They are at Ford Field on Saturday. We decided to have a #1DMeetUp987 at the park behind our American Drive studios with the caveat that those who showed up could win the always-elusive meet & greet passes to meet One Direction on Saturday.
Well, over 2,000 of our loyal listeners showed up and it was awesome! Along with the meet & greet passes, we had more tickets to the show and autographed memorabilia from the band.
Thanks to Rebecca, Tom and the entire promotions crew for their awesome work on this event. As chaotic as it was, it accomplished exactly what we wanted it to do: Marry the relationship the band has with their fan with our radio station.
And as of 9:30a this morning, we are STILL trending on twitter, almost 12 hours AFTER the event. So those who attended are STILL talking about it.
