Regular readers of this daily piece (the infirm, the indigent, plasma sellers and overnight hotel desk clerks) know how much I love to do stuff with balloons.

One of the many stations who have locked down theater for the Star Wars film is going to hang a BB 8 under helium balloons and release "the droid you're looking for." Find it and keep it. They'll also be gopro hung with it and they'll get it back from the winner to capture the flight and the capture.

Speaking Of Star Wars

This has Digital Homerun written all over it. And I'm sure you could find some kind of pet-focused client that would love to sponsor it and also get their name on a Star Wars ticket giveaway.

99.1 Hits-FM has done a holiday swap every year that will offer up whatever the hot toy or gadget is, to listeners who will trade in something of theirs. It could be done post-Christmas as "Star Wars: The Return Of The Gift."

"Reindeer Café'"

This has been on hiatus for a few years since Wild in OKC last did it. Basically a fauxcast from a grand opening of a restaurant that only serves meals prepared with reindeer: the other other white meat. And someone is about to do it. All staged. All theater. Merry Pop-Ins

As a followup to Drive By Noggins, one of the CHR's is doing office pop-ins the week AFTER Christmas for all the offices that didn't have any kind of formal get together. They'll be dropping off logo'ed mouse pads (made with real mice) and other appropriate at-work swag.

A Morning Show Bit

There was a book out in the 80's called "Everything I Know I Learned In Kindergarten". Or something like that. I spend every other Saturday night watching "COPS" in some hotel room. Was watching a similar show the other day. 150+ mile car chase through LA. Car wipes out. Foot chase. Gang tackled. And I added the line "I didn't do nuthin'!" which is what they always say on "COPS". Everyone at the bar cheered. Consequently, everything I know I learned from "COPS". "Scooby Doo"? It's always the kindly caretaker and why did he get caught? "I would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for these meddling kids!" Once a week, pick a show and let the audience add the knowledge they've gleaned from it.
