Influencer Marketing
This is genuinely interesting. Thanks to Holmes Pooser at CBS in Las Vegas for sharing. http://www.digitalistmag.com/customer-experience/2016/02/18/integrating-influencer-marketing-delivers-brand-roi-04021341
Look-A-Likes
I was talking about Rihanna with a station as they start to prep for their on-site presence. I went to a Taylor swift show last year where three stations had cut-outs of her at their tents. First, you never want to do what everyone else is doing. And your goal should be this:
That's Hot 99.5 in DC at Taylor last year and they got it by spending 90 days planning for it.
Carina at iHeart in Phoenix found a woman who looked like Taylor and paraded her around the plaza and got mobbed and also TV. This is a good thing.
It goes without saying that some/many/all of you will have concerts this Summer. If it's someone like Rihanna or Adele who has a unique look, then there is part of your game plan. Find a look-a-like.
Concert Prep
Again, smart stations don't just realize "Oh, yeah, we have a Bruno show tomorrow...". Like Hot in DC, they spend months planning for it. I did that yesterday with a station in a market where they don't get that many concerts, so each one is The Most Important Night Of The Year. I love to do this. Reach out if you have some shows on the radar that need some ground plans.
Carp Tank
Now and for the next few weeks it will be very popular in some markets to eat fish. So much so that it's a "thing". Like in Cincy. And since it's a thing, the Hubbard stations do their own thing with it. http://fishfry.cincymu.com/
What if you got five churches or organizations that have frys on the calendar, to come in and pitch their marketing plan, their hooks, what they have that other frys don't, and a sample of their food. Do this in the conference room with the airstaff and video each presentation.
Then make a staff decision on which fry will become the marketing focus of the station and throw spots and social media and appearances into promoting it. Why? Why not?
Great Moments In Station Videos
From 94/9 in San Diego where they are in their annual quest to own Coachella in the market. https://www.facebook.com/fm949sd/videos/vb.93474072421/10153954696282422/?type=2&theater
And from The Point in Little Rock where they try to answer the question, "What do DJ's do when the song is playing." The music makes it.
