So the tornado sirens in Minneapolis went off a few weeks ago at 6:15. Accidentally. 'Rousing a million people from their sleep. Lori at myTalk 107.1 bought coffee all morning at a local joint for people who couldn't fall back asleep and were lagging.

The Stuff You Don't Get With the VIP Club

From Joss: SO - while Rob was on his way back to Windsor, people called speculating. Some said that the Fuge could be my parents, cuz they are the ones who have keys to my house (ALTHOUGH they live in the East Bay) ANOTHER person thought it could be my cat sitter (these people are SMART and great listeners. I am so excited that they thought this!) STILL someone else is STILL stuck on Dano and says we should FRISK HIM!

In the past 3 days, this has become the most talked about promotion I have done in 22 years (ok 21 and a half) in the business. #justsayin

BTW it takes approx half a roll of paper towels to clean mustard off of a counter top.

PPM

I was THIS close to getting a boy band, who'd been Yoko'd and were regrouping to call themselves PPM (People Playing Music) because even if their song sucked, every PD in the format would play it at least once just so they could say "PPM" on the air.

It is often customary to do moms-and-baby photo galleries for Mothers Day. Q-104 in Cleveland called it Proud Parent Moments which would be great for Fathers Day.

Field Day

Hillary and the Promotion Directors at Beasley in Tampa took the street team out for a day of training and retraining to get them tightened up for the Summer. Do this.

And when you're doing your summer hires, these are the people we're looking for. REALLY outgoing nutjobs who won't hide under the canopy and who will get out in front and have fun with the listeners.
