Twitter Wars
Fitz is A. a supremely nice and funny guy, and B. is also a seriously talented dude.
I ran into him at the hotel in LA about 30 seconds after Samuel Jackson walked past on his way to some thing. Fitz is a fan. A huge fan. Or he wouldn't have approached him...and he was...uh...not very nice.
When I walked up he was just spinning in his tracks. He was disappointed. He was pissed. So he called him out on Twitter. And it's now made it at least as far as E! http://www.eonline.com/news/757527/samuel-l-jackson-wants-to-explain-himself-after-politely-refusing-to-take-a-picture-with-one-fan
I'd post the Twitter screen cap but Sam uses a bad word and with my addition of the Mennonite Radio Network of Saskatchewan I need to be careful about crap like that.
It's not like it's an artist or someone who could end up cancelling on performing at your show or banning you from the plaza, so why not?
When Facebook Goes Kablooey(tm)
We know that Kids and Pets are Hot Buttons. If you include them as a hook to a Hallmark Holiday, or as a topic on the morning show, or in imaging or even as a post on social media, you're raising the odds of being successful. One of the Townsquare stations posted a shot of a want ad from their paper where a mom was selling her son's truck because he was being such a jackass. It went stratospheric.
Last year I took the fam to a Chinese restaurant near me and walking in the door, it was hard to miss the guy in one of the booths. He just oozed "odd". Big oiled pompadour hairstyle, the kind of vest that the bartender on Gunsmoke wore, this kind of striped shirt you would associate with a Vegas dealer in 1971...and as we were led to our booth RIGHT behind him, a gun the size of Montana on his hip and a Minnesota Conceal & Carry Badge (bought on-line) on his vest. It's a law. Fine. But this guy looked like he would snap at ANY moment. It was really scary. Every customer who walked in the door got a good looking over from him. I truly expected to hear someone drop a dish and him roll out of the booth and come up just blasting away. My youngest daughter asked to move because "He's scary." So I took a pic, put it on Facebook and it blowed up.
Very civil opinions from both sides of the spectrum, too.
Nikki Landry at 98.9 Magic-FM in Colorado Springs reposted something from three years ago. Similar to mine. https://www.facebook.com/989magic/photos/a.494872056393.271347.84628461393/10151335731161394/?type=3&__mref=message_bubble
It done good.
Social media, just possibly could be more than just Nick Jonas will only sleep on 1200 count sheets.
