Nikki Landry has proved to be the hire of the century at Magic in Colorado Springs. She's brought a whole load of new energy into the building and as we speak/read/metriculate, the studio is being redesigned as a night club.
Her first promise to the staff was that if they were #1 in their next book, she'd take them to dinner at a restaurant of their choice, and voile: every day part was #1.
How do you motivate Radio People? Through their stomachs.

Wedding Day Wipe Out
2Day-FM has a new client that has come to town that apparently does the Star Wars of tattoo removal, so, for June, when people get married, they're going to help brides and grooms remove really awful remnants of weekend drinking binges in college. Another station is about to do that with Taylor tickets and give listeners a blank space...and some tix.
Lunch Box Heroes
On a regular enough basis that I should probably TM it, I refer to the stations in Cedar Rapids as the coolest that I know of.
Their newest promotion? Going around to worksites and feeding crews who work and probably listen to the radio for 9-10 hours a day.
