One Second Cinema
I love the name. From Trent-FM/UK. You play one second of a movie. Call and ID it and win.
Some Many Parallels, So Little Time
I probably over-use the 'Radio is like a political campaign' analogy, but it's true. Political candidates run for election and whether they're answering the phone, filling out a diary or clipping a 1987-style drug dealer pager to their belt, the audience IS making a vote for you when they tune in.
What moves the needle? Social Media spam of course. Plus auto-posts about Arianna Grande's new socks. And also going out and shaking hands. Lots and lots of hands.
I was at the annual parade across the river in Osceola, Wisconsin, in a county that is surveyed in the Twin Cities metro and where 10,000 people grabbed a seat on the curb and were marketed to by business after business after business. And about a hundred candidates.
This guy had the most bodies (undoubtedly family and friends), shirts that popped, someone walking both sidewalks handing out lawn signs, another crew handing out logoed (from a local vet) dog biscuits with a card that said "Take A Bite Out Of Taxes", someone working both sides of the street giving balloons to kids (who went nuts over them) and a dog that had been logoed. Also a ton of candy being tossed out.
You Never Hear About Overtakers
Congrats to the Peterborough cluster where their Win A Funeral has now begun to get national press in Canada.
