Following up on yesterday's email, the wonderful folks at 95 WIIL have been having some fun with her for a couple of months. https://soundcloud.com/95-wiil-rock/stu-hacks-toms-alexa?in=95-wiil-rock/sets/tom-and-emily-morning-show-2
Summer Shirts
"People don't wear radio station shirts anymore." Maybe. And probably because the swag we spread around is boring and looks like something that you'd get at the IBS Fun Run. (Thank you to Jay Kruz for the station shirt/fun run metaphor).
Drake Donovan just got back from Disney where he was so inspired by the wearables in their gift shops that he compiled a great gallery of stuff that actually looks good. I mean, if you're going to spend $5 on an item, you'd want it to look great, right?
Banks
Banks can be great radio clients and I saw a CHR land a BIG one and it became annual account, with a highschool football promotion. They went to one game every Friday, a kid was randomly chosen from the crowd and he/she got a kick at a field goal. They make it and they got a $10,000 college fund from the bank.
Dan Hunt with Power in Atlanta shares this. Bank vault dashes never ever aren't great. When Hot in NYC did it, I think the take was $17,000.

There was a WNBA game in Phoenix and the team awarded Party Radio five minutes between periods to do "something". What they wanted was something that would be compelling for the people who stayed in their seats and didn't head for the bathroom.
We did "Roll In The Dough". We got four listeners, wrapped them each in miles of double-sided tape, carefully helped them walk out to the center of the court, a large pile of bills was dumped out and when a whistle blew, they had 60 seconds to drop and roll in the money. They were flopping around like beached trout. Whistle blew, they were helped to their feet and they got to keep whatever stuck to them.
The team....loved it. It was their favorite half time event of the season. And could be done with or at a bank.
