The Definition Of "Sticktoittivness"
At one point during the KDWB run of the Fugitive, the Promotion Director was talking to me about the chase and suggested that I was overthinking my caution about an up-coming curve ball. I suggested that she go to their message board where 5000 people were debating the racial ancestry of the Fuge based on a police sketch drawing.
This is like High/Low and Treasure Hunts: it's not a definite end date, It could end on Day Two. But out of 100 stations only twice hasn't it reached the day where we'd hoped it would wrap up.
Go to about 1:20 and start watching where she details her search. And she wasn't an exception; there were a LOT of little detectives putting that kind of effort into the hunt. It's nice when it's someone like her and not just the person who happened to be driving past Caribou Coffee when the clue went down.
Possibly The Best Blog Concept Of 2017

Sell. This.
Hot 100.5 in Norfolk does probably the best Back To School giveaway in Radio. Great prize + great methodology = homerun. From Paul McCoy:
When a helicopter client offers you use of one, the answer is always 'yes'! We decided it'd be fun to drop numbered golf balls from a helicopter from a few hundred feet. (We happen to have a restaurant client that has a big open grass field next door) The numbered balls were awarded on air over the course of two weeks, which allowed plenty of time to not only promote the event, but also to give our sponsors a fair amount of mentions as well.
The day of the event, you make sure you have plenty of stuff to do while people wait for the actual dropping of the balls. And most importantly, plenty of video of the event from every angle possible. It's makes it not only fun to watch later, but also has value for selling into it year after year.
