Easy money. I don't understand why more stations don't do these. One of the GM's was looking for something in late August or September. In addition to Office Hottie of Sidewalk Heroes, you could...
- Follow up LABOR Day by kicking off Baby Bumps. NASCAR your pregnant belly and submit the shot. Most votes gets a plethora of baby-related prizes.
- Lockerazzi. Once school starts and you've personalized your locker, take a shot and submit it for voting. "It may only be eight inches wide, ten inches deep and five feet high, but make that locker yours..." Inclusion of the station is a given. Winner gets pizza, clothes, tech stuff, whatever. Tickets to your Christmas show maybe.
High School Bullying
Thank you to Tommy Chuck for, well, just being the bast damn him that he could be. And also for sharing this GREAT video from a Danish TV station about diversity and coming together as a community.
When Paul Kaye was at BRMB-FM in Birmingham, England they did a similar video that was more focused on community pride and supporting great, locally based businesses and industries.
I'd file this as something to be done when you need to react to a local story about bullying, and the groups in the vid are all of the various sub-groups of school life. Sports. Clubs. Teachers. Kind of like this.
Bag Swag
It sounds like it's Fair and Festivalpalooza out there. iHeart in Albany has three in a month and Kiss is using "People Watching Weekends" as their theme for contesting, because, what better place is there to see a grown man in Daisy Dukes.
Another station is looking for inexpensive swag that they can do en masse and that will provide some visibility on the fairgrounds. Keychains end up in pockets.
For decades, KS95 in Minneapolis does bags. Tens of thousands of bags. And people make the station booth their first stop before continuing their journey of the fair and loading up with just (bleep)tons of free stuff. And you see them everywhere and they're brought home and used for other stuff.
Morning Show Juice
I heard "We caught the babysitter doing (blank)" that went on for awhile.
A conversation that some people across the aisle were having on a flight yesterday, I got in on and the people behind them joined in on. I thought the pilot was going to chime in on "Bad exchange student stories". Test it. It will go on and on and on.
Meanwhile, almost always great Brazilian Exchange Student and current CPR Director of Computer Stuff Bel Boschi shows off one of the several pregnancies she had while we hosted her in 1998.
