Congrats to Pebbles from Full Power Radio in Connecticut who personally drove and delivered a truck full of pet food to the Humane Society in Tampa, and diapers and wipes to a shelter
When You Just Don't Care
Mid-00's and the Miami Dolphins started out 0-5. The standard radio bit would be some kind of promotion where the morning guy doesn't shave or does "something" until the team wins.
They're 0-5. Only the most deluded idiot has not already written off the season. So Power 96 took a photo of the fully-clothes 2 guy, three women morning show and every Monday morning after a loss, the photo was updated with each of them having lost an article of clothing. By the time they were 0-11 only Google was getting higher traffic.
The Chargers are leaving San Diego do Jayson and Dana at 94/9 have started an "Anyone But The Chargers" campaign. www.fm949sd.com
Sell. This.
The crack Promo staff at Magic in Colorado Springs is already looking at Black Friday and things they can be doing to engage the masses of nutjobs camping out for deals. Coffee deliveries have always been great. Holding spots in line so listeners can enjoy dinner with the family is great. But what do people crave? Juice. Electricity for their devices. Having a charging station would be large.
Sell. This. v2
First, kudos to Melanie Miltz at KS-95 in the Twin Cities for reminding us of Flat Stanley. Kind of like Flat Fritsch where listeners of Q-102 could take Fritsch from the morning show on Summer vacations and post pics of her adventures around the world.
"Live With" is great. Twenty or thirty insane and intrepid listeners carrying cardboard cutouts of the morning show for a month to win a prize.
The Thanksgiving version would be "Eat With". Download/print a pdf of a morning host headshot (not in a JFK kind of way) off the site, set him/her up in a chair at Thanksgiving dinner and post and share with the hopes of scoring(tm) a fully prepared Christmas meal from a valued client.
