Rain does NOT cancel festivals, remotes and other events. And we'll still want to have logoed gear for the visibility and to ID who actually works for the station. C95 in Saskatoon got these for the staff and saved a few boxes for an outdoor community celebration where it poured. They handed them out and you would have thought they were giving out $100 bills.

The Reason I Got Into Radio?

To webcam listeners in a porta potty. And at least I'm honest. Congrats to 99.1 Hits-FM in St. Johns. 13 hours and 10 minutes, huge on-site traffic, huge digital numbers and a young woman won a trip to the opening night of the Justin Timberlake tour in Toronto.

The Stuff That Sirius Can't Do

WiLD in Tampa had another great WiLD Splash show on Saturday night. All four price levels of tickets sold out and faster than they have in the past.

But, then you had a guy on the staff who spotted something and helped a little girl out. Kaboom:

Dave Druda pointed out overhearing a young listener who was the biggest "Lil Skies" fan and simply wanted to make sure she didn't miss watching him interviewed. Well Gwen did not miss that interview and in fact, she met him, got pictures and wowed this new artist with her knowledge of his story. Meet Gwen!

We later found out that Gwen had had a major brain operation as a child that left her with some disabilities. We also learned she is being bullied by girls who simply KNEW she would neither be "going to WiLDsplash, nor would she every "get close to Lil Skies". Well she did, and we gave her a big shout out, for all her school to hear, and her mom thanked us, via my IG account.
