Taylor Swiftly
Kiss in Dallas does concert tickets every Thursday and last week they did Taylor Swiftly: tickets delivered to your door within 106 minutes of winning them.
The first station that I remember doing prize deliveries was Q in Philly and it was their hook vs. The Eagle when it came to weekend contests. Power in Miami and NOW in NY are among the stations that have done it to spice up their giveaways, and honestly, make them a little more user friendly.
You could do a spin on what Now in SFO does: they take their weekend contests off-air and go out and catch people listening and hook them up. That could be your Canada Day or 4th promotion with food and beverages at places like parks, beaches and pools.Pool Crashing
Following up on "taking weekend contests off the air and putting them on the streets", Promotions is often the Art of knowing where the listeners are and then finding reasons to be there. At Power in Miami and ALT in San Diego, it's the beaches. In places like Saginaw and Charlotte and Norfolk and Houston, it's pools. Home pools.
Apartment/condo pools. So Hot in Norfolk is out crashing pool parties. And yes it IS Rocket Science.Drunk Girl Trivia
As done by Virginia with the KVJ show at WRMF in West Palm Beach. The co-host gets loaded and tries to answer trivia to win prizes for listeners.
Jenni's Movie Nights
We were just discussing movies and how they're the Entertainment Universal, at Cumulus in Albuquerque.
Did you know that you can get films like "Scarface" and "Caddy Shack" in theater-ready format? Yup. Which is why every Halloween you'll see some station do a cineplex takeover with "It" and "The Shining" and other horror films that most people have only seen on Netflix.
Jenni at Hot in Ottawa loves movies. So all summer she's picking films to bring back to a largish screen for a movie night. -
