So simple. About to start at a station where it's been sold and will blow up their digital Yeah....we don't want ANY of those things. We want hoops that sales couldn't sell and that get buried on-line.

Tray Liners

Nothing great has ever been accomplished by people who were afraid to ask for outlandish stuff. Wild in SFO getting a free plane from United Airlines to fly water to LA after the earthquake? Most people would have never thought to ask. It took one call.

It is hopefully inevitable that one of the fast food chains will come to you with $$$ and ask for a promotion.

1. Always ask, "Is there a way we could get the station played in all of your local stores?" What the Hell. Why not ask.
2. Always ask, "Is there a way we could get on all your trayliners?" KUBE in Seattle asked and ended up getting "Match Game" on every McDonalds trayliner in western Washington State. To play their ratings contest, you needed to go and get a trayliner. Q in Memphis got a ski trip on Wendy's trayliners. Again, what is the worst possible thing that could happen: they say 'no'.

The Winnebago World Tour

"Drives" can be a little like a fair or festival. You can sit in one location and hope that people come to you, or, you can go out to where they are or work the entire festival.

When KSFM was in the middle of a decade long run at #1, Davey & Chris did The Winnebago World Tour as a food drive. They did three four hour hits a day and specifically targeted (people who paid for the stops) in important zips and corners of the market. They'd pull into a Walmart (for instance) at 9 pm and do the first broadcast of the day from there the next morning.

Now...imagine doing this with an RV that was wrapped as Santa's sleigh...

Po Po

We had a really fun Street School in Fredericton and as always we handed out names to the 'teamers. "Kat" got hers because she looks like Kat Denning. "Po Po" got hers because the competition has called the cops on her THREE times. She's a keeper.
