What Would You Do?
One of the go-to morning show promotions in the early 00's was "We'll do anything for you to listen" which had people like JV and Elvis going to a stunt school where they were set aflame and plunged from a 3rd story window.
And it was good.
JACK in Vancouver is bringing it back but with listeners performing stupid fetes to go and see Aerosmith in Las Vegas. https://www.jack969.com/contests/what-would-you-do-for-aerosmith/
Podcasts That Parents Love
When my daughters were little they loved books on CD. "Cam Jansen." "Mrs. Pigglewiggle". They couldn't get enough of them. We'd go through a few week and pretty much cleaned out the library. What if you had the morning show read kids books and have them with your other 'casts on your site?
Beat The Toaster
Since the $1000 Minute made its way south from Canada a couple of years ago, there have been quite a few "timed trivia" contests that have popped up. K-Bear 104.1 in Anchorage does beat the toaster. They set it for it's lowest level which I guess is about 5 seconds and the caller needs to name five things about their topic of the day, to win.
Wikispeedia
One of the stations is about to start a feature where the talent will describe, vaguely, a film in 8 seconds. Call and ID the film and win movie tickets.
You could also do it with Wikipedia and in 8 seconds read some portions of a celebrities Wikipedia profile. ID "Raul Julia" and win.
Cheese Challenge
I could be wrong but I think John & Tammy at KSON in San Diego may be the first show "on" the Cheese Challenge. And they got the kind of social media juice that doesn't come from "Camela Cabello offers 22 life lessons on her 22nd birthday!". https://www.facebook.com/68849949454/posts/10157242679494455?sfns=mo
Coolest Coworker
This is Mix in Peoria's latest campaign to market to at-work audience and it's been a homerun. https://www.mix1069.com/coolest-coworker-week/
