Have an opinion? Add your comment below. Generally speaking, if you have not locked down interns or whatever kind of warm bodies your company will allow you to have by now, you COULD be looking at the dregs. * There is a "type" that we're looking for. Clean-looking, presentable and courteous are obviously great. But you also want people who are energetic, out-going and who will not sit behind a table but will instead stand out front and actively work the crowd. * There are going to be a few times a summer when you're going to want 30 or more bodies on-hand at an event, in which case you should be thinking about a go-to source for people that you can get in shirts. Hot in Ottawa has used cheerleaders at big concerts and fed them pizzas as payment

The Anker Nebula Projector
In the beginning there was the Derksen USA batlight that could shoot your logo a couple of blocks and pretty much "take up" the entire side of a building.
And it was good.
And then you had products like Luma Play that will put your logo on the floor and allow people to stop and have fun with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEip7TCbcfE
And it was better.
Now you have the Nebula projector that will fun four hours on a charge and can do anything from showing videos to movies to just having your logo spin around. If you have clubs, shows, or even charity events that will be at night (like the Chet Buchanan toy drive in Las Vegas), this would be pretty cool.

Street School, Street Teamers & Street Team Manuals
- Generally speaking, if you have not locked down interns or whatever kind of warm bodies your company will allow you to have by now, you COULD be looking at the dregs.
- There is a "type" that we're looking for. Clean-looking, presentable and courteous are obviously great. But you also want people who are energetic, out-going and who will not sit behind a table but will instead stand out front and actively work the crowd.
- There are going to be a few times a summer when you're going to want 30 or more bodies on-hand at an event, in which case you should be thinking about a go-to source for people that you can get in shirts. Hot in Ottawa has used cheerleaders at big concerts and fed them pizzas as payment.
- Do you have a field day in the Spring where you bring everyone in and train them? Giving them a manual is great but better is a full-on morning or afternoon with the GM, the PD, the Sales Manager, all getting up and explaining what they do at the station and how it's part of the equation.
- If you have not done Street School, ask and I will walk you through it. If you can cut down on the number of Monday morning calls from clients who are angry because of a remote over the weekend, life would indeed be wonderful.
- I have a couple of great examples of street team manuals if you'd like to see them.
Tuba Tuesday
I did a call with one of the Country morning shows who were looking to update some of their set features. It turns out the guy part of the show played tuba, badly, in school. Therein lies the new feature. He'll play a hook from a different Country song every Tuesday. ID and win.
One spin to this would be to always have the right answer be "Achy Breaky Heart". Kind of like the Stupid Criminal thing that Power 96 in Miami does, called "Black, White, Hispanic or Other". The caller has to guess the race of that mornings crook who got arrested, stuck in the flue of a Waffle House, after stripping naked and greasing himself with Mazola to break in. The answer is ALWAYS White.
