Zam-Bo-Nay
Our first nod to the NHL Playoffs comes from the Three Dads & A Minivan podcast of current and former WiLD 94.1 employees and directed and edited by Tommy Carrozza, Production Maestro with BBGI/Tampa. When the TEAM comes to you and wants you to do something, that's pretty cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_NReJMUh8A
The Secret Sound
One of the most successful contest methodologies dating back to when Marconi was an intern, is back at 99.7 NOW-FM in San Francisco.
It's a great promotion because it doesn't play to the weird 4% of people who play our games, but to the 96% of people who are listening for the 3rd Ariana Grande drop of the week and get sucked in by something that tickles their memory. "Damn....I know that. Crap...it's...uh....man, it's right there...."
They add $100 with each missed guess and post the missed guesses, but not the clues. You need to listen for a daily clue recap at an appt. time. https://997now.com/contest/5000-secret-sound-2/
The $1000 Minute
Another great methodology is anything like "Are You Smarter Than Staci" at KS95 where, three weeks ago, I scared the bejesus out of my daughter when I abruptly started screaming "Abe Frohman! Abe Frohman!" at the car radio. It activated me.
The $1000 Minute is the same contest but timed, basically. Kendra and Ross at Hot 101.7 in Santa Rosa has launched their version of it. http://www.hot1017.com/vip_contest/hot-101-7s-thousand-dollar-minute/
Stu Jeffries at Boom in Toronto does it better than anyone. Here are a few sample promos.
