Speaking Of Which

I'd lobbed out WGMK in Philly and Froggy in Santa Rosa and their community service programs that get people off their butts and out volunteering with the station. From JJ Ryan -

Our morning show has the 'KJ103 Community Crew' up until recently. They will volunteer with a different organization every quarter and invite listeners to join them by filling out a form on our website to get on the list. It might be a Habitat For Humanity house build one time and a Salvation Army Soup Kitchen type deal the next time, etc.

Kind Is Better

From Ice at Live 99.5 in Portland - It's a campaign myself, Live, NW Honda Dealers and KATU are a part of. We formed a KIB advisory board with local teens last Nov, met each month to talk about what pillars we should focus on on how to make our community a kinder place. That was phase one, now we're kicking off phase two where the board, myself, the dealers and KATU get together for 5x projects to either clean up parks, deliver flowers to nursing homes, pick up waste, etc. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. I'll share socials/vids once we get there.

Temp Tag

You can never go wrong with Ticket Tag, and with some of the markets going through insane heat, Temp Tag would work too? To start, you take a caller and they win. And then you announce the temp. The caller at the next appt. time has to know that temp to win. They you announce the updated temp and the next caller has to know that and so on and so on.

Meme It Mondays

Not that any of you are under scrutiny for hits and views but when Jeanne Ashley was at Star in KC she started doing a Caption Contest on her section of the site every day. She even went out and got prizes from clients. And the numbers went up 600%. Seriously.

Huh. Maybe "time killing" stuff that your audience can do while sitting in drudgery filling out TPS Reports, works?

The 2019 version of Jeanne's bit would be Meme It Monday and do it on Facebook or Istagram.

Instead of searching for a pic in the public domain or Getty Images, just post a shot taken by one of the show over the weekend. Post and have a link to a free service like http://makeameme.org/

People sit at work, bored, they look at a photo of a very pregnant Dez sitting in a deck chair eating pizza with one hand and cake with the other and create a meme ("Sometimes there's just not enough hands") which they then post to either your social media or your site, depending on where your companies priorities lie. It doesn't have to be a contest but it could, depending on the Degree Of Difficulty your owners have with Legal Stuff(tm).
